Strap Happy

Before clapboarding, we ran a grid of mason’s lines from frieze to water table and from eave to eave. Then we screwed 3/4 inch strapping to the sheathing along each of the studs and posts, and shimmed them to the lines, creating a relatively flat surface before hanging our skived “claps.”
